The Northern Neurological Alliance (NNA) had four runners in this year’s Great North Run which took place on Sunday 11 September 2016. It was the first time that the NNA had taken part and it was a great experience for all involved.
The Great North Run can’t be beaten. It attracts world class athletes like Mo Farah and Haile Gebrselassie, is televised by the BBC, and has over 57,000 runners taking part.
All our runners were delighted with their achievements and we congratulate them. Three of them are hoping to run for NNA again next year.
Our colleagues at the Stroke Association were very kind and offered our runners the use of their facilities, and much needed access to a post run massage in their lovely tent, which was very welcome! Well done and Thank You to all our runners who raised nearly £1,400 for NNA.
The Red Arrows put on an amazing display, once again demonstrating their skill and accuracy in very close quarters to each other.
Do you know someone who is looking to run in the 2017 Great North Run? If they have their own place and need to choose a charity then please tell them about the NNA. We’d love to hear from you. Please contact Margaret Stewart at firstname.lastname@example.org
